Determining The Type of Foot You Have and The Right Choose To Wear

If you have been experiencing foot pain for some time now, you might want to consider the shoes that you are wearing. But you have to learn first the type of shoes that is appropriate for your feet. You see, the reason why you are experiencing a lot of problems with your shoes right now is perhaps the result of not knowing whats the right shoes to use.

You can simply approach an expert on running shoes, a salesperson perhaps, to help you find the right pair of shoes to buy, or you can figure it out yourself. You can simply check the shape of your feet to figure out what shoes willl be good for you. If you want to do it on your own, you can simply do the footprint test. Wet your feet and walk on the sand or on a piece of paper and see how your footprint looks like.

According to physicians there are only 3 different types of feet. The 3 type of feet are flat, high-arched and neutral. Knowing the characteristics of each type will make it a lot easier to figure out what type of feet you have.

Flat Footed Type

At first glance, you will know if you have a flat foot. If you don't see any curve on your foot, then you probably have a flat foot. If your quite doubtful, check your foot from your heels to your toes and see if it has any curve. If none, then you are 100 percent flat footed. You can confirm this by doing the footprint test I have suggested above. Look for inward curves on your foot print. If you don't see any sign of it, then you are probably flat footed.

For those who have a flat foot you need to wear shoes that can control motion and has a stability support. You can also use a shoe insert for office type of shoes. A flat foot tends to roll inwards when in motion. That is why support and stability is needed for flat footed people. In going to the office and/or other activities, you can use a shoe insert as well.

Foot With High Arch

The opposite of the flat footed type is high-arched footed. If a flat foot implies that there's no curve on the foot, then high-arch also implies that there is too much curve on the foot. You can also confirm this using the footprint test. During the test, observe the footprint. If you see that the midsection is quite slim then you sure to have a high-arched foot.

High-arched footed runs with their foot moving outward. If you have this condition, you should know that your foot size increases especially if you use your feet that often. For this type of foot you need to use a flex support type of shoes.

Neutral or Normal Footed

If your foot is not like anything I have mentioned above, then you have what is called a normal type of foot. With a normal footed feet you need not to worry about the type of shoes to wear because you can use whatever type you wanted to.
